Potty Training

Today is dedicated to potty training, something that you can only appreciate if you've had to deal with it. Hannah seems to be taking to it more enthusiastically. Any suggestions for us rookies?

  2. Hi! This is Andrea (used to work with Rachel at the tutoring center - I worked at the front desk). Last year we potty-trained our little girl, and the one thing that made a huge difference was when her cousin (who was already using the potty very well) came to stay with us for a weekend. We had tried different rewards but nothing like that worked - she had to learn it from someone her own age, and since then she has been doing great. Good luck! It might take some time, but don't get discouraged!

  3. We let Abe run around without his pants or underwear. One accident on himself and he realized the toilet was a better alternative. It worked well for him because he really doesn't like getting messy. I doubt the same would work for Ben. And we had a chart that he filled out, a box for every successful toilet time. When he finished the chart, he picked a toy from the store. It worked well.

  4. Well we dedicated about 8 hours to it and it was pretty successful. Maybe I am just making excuses but I feel like twins is just a whole other ball game that I am still slowly acknowledging. Hannah did very well. Heber not so much, but he did go twice in the toilet. It was exhausting for us hovering over them all day. It must have been for them too because they fell asleep at 6pm.

A&A, I like the idea of the chart. It's different than anything we've tried yet. We're also focusing on Hannah, hoping that Heber will follow (thanks, Andrea).

Lindsay, if the kids are anything like me, they would be doing cartwheels (or at least rolling newspapers) for splatter balls. Unfortunately, we don't have such delicacies.
