Sunday Morning Breakfast

These days we normally have oatmeal for breakfast. And by we I mean the kiddos. I can't seem to get myself to eat it. I get sick to my stomach and I have childhood nightmares of the stuff. I normally eat fruit, eggs (ok so much not lately) or a salad. When Talmage is here we normally easy something different on Saturday but I can't seem to wrap my mind around what to make to break it up. So oatmeal it is. Always and forever. Or at least for now.

Birthday

Looks like an ordinary moment around her. Or is it? If you look closely you'll see Hannah frosting my birthday brownies in cupcake form.
I flew to Alabama and spent my birthday with Talmage. It was great!

Spotlight Hannah

Hannah is often tries to pin her stuff on  Olive-- "Well Olive..." is a common response I get even if Olive clearly didn't do it because she's asleep or something. She likes to sneak frozen strawberries from the freezer and tries to pin it on Olive.
Hannah adores Dewey. She'll just sit with him, hold his hand and get a good doting session on saying things like "your just such a cutie pie, cute, cute, cute, oh I just love you, cute, cute, cutie, cutie pie." Dewey is so willing to give her a big gummy smile accompanied by a little dance and a "huu".
When she doesn't get her way and she is having a hard day, she'll very teenagerly spot out "I hate you. You never let us do ___." Her turrets doesn't stop there, she often turns on Heber or Olive if they do something wrong. Then the next moment she is back to her sweet happy self. Don't worry though, my next post won't be "How to be a Doormat Parents and Let Your Kids Walk All Over You."
Olive and her are starting a ballet class next week through the city of Plano's recs. There classes are both on Saturday mornings. Hannah has been wanting to do this for over a year. They both filled up to chore charts to "pay" for there ballet slippers and class.
She likes praticing ballet, drawing and playing with Heber. They have a bitter/sweet relationship, normally more sweet than bitter. And they can play princess marries cowboys and indians for a long time.
Hannah is all girl. She loves princesses and dark pink. Her favorite princesses are Sleeping Beauty and the Twelve Dancing Pricesses. Her girlness rubs of onto Olive as well.
She is super quirky and this come out in different ways, like driving her tricycle like a drunkard. Or just her weird of the the wall questions and remarks.

Banana Massacre Results

They had some of the bananas for breakfast. We froze the rest and made "ice cream" with them. There are still a few more left. They sweetly attempted to make me a salad with avocados (you can see some rolling around on the floor). I finished making the salad they started and ate it for breakfast.

Banana Massacre of 2014

I sleep in today for the first time in a while, well kind of. Actually I just stayed in my bed while they came to me with their problems. I solved big dilemmas such as;
"Sorry that is not your shirt anymore, it is too small on you. ...I know it is your favorite."
Or “Yes, I understand that you don't like the princess movie Heber. ...Yes, it is pretty girly. ...That's ok because it is not time to watch a movie."
Or "I'm sorry Hannah bit you, come cuddle by me."
So after I finally got up, this is what I found in the kitchen. Haha! That what happens when I sleep (or hope to sleep) on the job.

Overheard

Olive: "When I grow up will you marry me?"
Heber: "No, I can't marry my sister... How about I had the Annie and you marry Rulan"
Olive: "And who will Hannah marry?"
Heber: "Julian... or maybe Roman." (Both their cousins on the Hansen side.)

Sick Dewey

Dewey had a fever today. Not very high. It is going down a little. I love how lethargic and cuddly he is.

Creatures

Heber and Hannah made these little creatures. Hannahs is the little guy with tge long head. Hebers is the one with tge cherry tomato body thats "walking through the forest".

Angel

I love my sister Angel. She flew home Saturday night. I fill blessed to have her here for a month. I feel like it came together perfectly, like God orchestrated it. We had such a great time. She has made the first month of Talmage being gone breeze by a lot more smoothly than when I'm all alone. I do NOT know how my SIL, Nikki, does it when Caleb is deployed for months on end. I can tell it is hard. And when I get a taste of what she went through I respect her even more.
Angel and I both realized how relatable we are to each other. We drove the kids nuts with our chattings. And stayed up too late talking. I feel like I can be deep and real with her. Are conversations were silly some times but kept returning back to deeper stuff like life and spiritual stuff. I am SO thankful for my little sister, who is not my little sister anymore, but my equal. I love her.

Picture for Tally

I tried to take a picture of us to send to Talmage to put up in his only authorized spot. After several attempt I might be able to pick one where we are all looking at the camera with an ok expression on all our faces. I love how I looked buried in a see of faces.

Healthy Challenge

So as I do the Grandy Family Health Challenge I find that habits of good health are wearing off on the kidos, well some of them.

Why we're one dress when you can wear three!

That's Hannah's motto for getting dressed for church today.

Little Artist

Hannah's a little artist. She often spends ours drawing, painting or making something crafty. It takes a lot of effort for her to pull herself away from it to do things she deems not-as-important, like going to the bathroom. I've tried to save a few of her pieces but even the volume of those alone was too much for me and I end up keeping nothing. Sad but true.
Love our little artist.

Overheard

"When Olive crys sometimes I think in my heart, holy cow, this house is loud."
- Hannah

Dewey

Dewey has started another stage. I think I feel a hint of his first baby tooth coming in. ...and a hint of the fussiness, poor little guy. He is filling out more too.
